B2B internet usage in India
Most companies in India have websites today on which they have spent lakhs of rupees , but few use it effectively to increase their sales. This report shows that most Indian companies do not bother to respond to their customer queries.
Most of B2B websites are login based, where a membership fee of more than Rs 3000 annually is to be paid. The 'members' of the website get a login name and password. If a particular enquiry is of their interest, they have to login to get the buyer contact details. The buyer details will then have to be copied to a text/word file for future reference. This procedure take a minimum of 2 to 3 minutes and getting even 20 enquiries is very time consuming.
Other websites host online catalogs of a companies products with submission to search engines, for which they charge Rs 4000. If there are 20 manufacturers listed in a category, the chances of getting an enquiry are greatly reduced.
Some of the largest ISPs block email from each other. A few months back all emails from Vsnl to BSNL (sancharnet.in) were blocked. We will keep you updated on various problems faced based by internet users based on our experience and feedback from customers
